(1) This product is classified as a rock climbing and mountaineering helmet. It cannot be used for any other kind of sport.

(2) Immediately before every use, visually/functionally inspect to ensure that this helmet is in a serviceable condition and operates correctly. The shell should have no cracks or deformities. The attachment points of headband to the shell, and the chin strap and headband adjustment should be inspected. We recommend a thorough inspection at least once a year by a competent person (this may be the manufacturer). This inspection should be recorded on the inspection form supplied.

(3) Lives depend upon your equipment. The user should be fully aware of its history (use, storage, inspection etc.). If this equipment is not for personal use (e.g. used in mountaineering centres) we strongly recommend a systematic approach to record keeping. This should always be carried out by a competent person.

(4) WARNING: if you are in any doubt whatsoever about the safe condition of this helmet REPLACE IMMEDIATELY.

(5) It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that he/she understands the correct and safe use of this helmet.

(6) This helmet is designed for use in normal climatic conditions (-20°C to +35°C).

(7) This helmet is constructed so that the energy of an impact may be absorbed through its partial destruction; though the damage may not be visual. IF IT SUFFERS SUCH AN IMPACT THE HELMET SHOULD BE DESTROYED AND REPLACED

(8) No responsibility will be accepted by CCL for damage, injury or death resulting from misuse. If in doubt contact CCL. There is no substitute for instruction by a trained and competent person.

(9) No special transportation precautions are necessary; however, avoid all contact with sharp objects, chemical reagents or other corrosive substances, and avoid crushing the helmet. Do not sit on the helmet.

(10) WARNING: do not apply stickers or paint to the helmet. They may contain substances that significantly affect the strength of the helmet.

(11) Maintenance and Servicing:

Note: this helmet is not user maintainable with the exception of disinfection and cleaning as detailed below.

(11.1) Disinfection/Cleaning: if soiled rinse in clean warm water of domestic supply quality (maximum temperature 30°C) with mild detergent at appropriate dilution (pH range 5.5 - 8.5). Dry naturally away from direct heat.

(11.2) Storage: after any necessary cleaning store unpacked in a cool, dry, dark place in a chemically neutral environment away from excessive heat or heat sources, high humidity, sharp edges, corrosives or other possible causes of damage. Do not store wet.

(11.3) Life Span and Obsolescence: it is very difficult to estimate this due to local use and storage conditions but a conservative estimate would be 5 years. However, the following may reduce the life span of this product:-

Impact / Chemical Contamination / Heat Contamination (above normal climatic conditions) / Mechanical Deformation &/or Distortion / General Wear / Corrosion / Heavy &/or continues use.
